How Far I’ve Come: A Reflection
Now and then, I pause to look back…not to dwell, but to acknowledge. Today, I’m grateful for the journey and see how far I’ve come.
Career-wise, I’ve evolved from roles that once drained me to purpose-driven work that aligns with my identity. Transitioning from visual merchandising to mindful lifestyle blogging has been freeing and fulfilling. I now create from a place of peace, and that shift has brought more clarity to my days.
My health has transformed, too. Choosing a more intentional way of living: mindful eating, movement, and rest…has taught me how sacred and responsive the body is when taken care of with respect. I feel stronger, lighter, and more present.
Financially, I’ve matured. I’ve learned to be better with my resources, embracing simplicity and planning with wisdom. It’s no longer about chasing abundance, but cultivating it with purpose.
Relationships have deepened and softened. I’ve let go of what no longer served me and made space for connections rooted in mutual love, truth, and growth. Whether with family, friends, or coworkers, I value presence and peace over performance.
Spiritually, I’m more grounded than I’ve ever been. My faith is no longer something I visit…it’s where I live. And emotionally, I’ve learned that healing isn’t linear. There’s strength in softness, power in boundaries, and wisdom in stillness.
I’m not who I used to be, and that’s the beauty of it.
Here’s to the journey and the grace that carries us through.
God Said Forgive... and I’m Wrestling With It.
There’s this kind of spiritual battle that doesn’t come loud or dramatic. It’s not people gossiping, or life falling apart in big obvious ways. It’s quieter than that. More internal. And for me, it started after I thought the worst had already passed.
I’ve had to face some pretty heavy stuff over the years—being wronged in ways I don’t even like to say out loud. Things like slander, manipulation, spiritual attacks, people trying to tear down my name, or shake my peace. And somehow, through all that, God kept me. I stayed grounded. I forgave—at least I thought I did. I kept going.
But now, here I am, feeling like the real fight has started after the dust settled.
James 1:14-15 hit different lately:
“But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire. Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death.”
That part—"enticed by his own desire"—man, it made me stop. Because sometimes, the enemy stops trying to work around you and starts trying to work through you. It’s like when he can’t break you with outside attacks, he turns inward, starts playing with your thoughts, your emotions, your wounds.
And lately, it’s been this one whisper from God that I haven’t been able to shake:
"Forgive them."
And I’ll be real—everything in me wanted to say “No.” Because what they did was wrong. They were intentional. They were harmful. It wasn’t a misunderstanding. It was spiritual, emotional, and psychological. Some days I feel like I’m still cleaning up the damage.
But God? He keeps gently pushing: “Let it go. Do what I said.”
And here’s where James 1:22 kicks in:
“Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.”
That’s the part that gets me. I can know the Word. I can quote the Word. But if I’m not doing it? If I’m not walking it out, especially when it’s hard… am I living it?
So I’m making the choice—even though it’s hard, even though it’s still healing—to forgive. Not for them, but because I want peace. Because I want to live free. Because I don’t want to carry what God already told me to lay down.
Some days, forgiveness feels like release. Other days, it feels like war. But I’m learning that doing the Word, especially in the quiet, internal places… that’s where the healing starts.
If you’ve been wronged and you feel God nudging you to forgive, trust me—I get it. It’s not easy. But there’s freedom on the other side. Don’t stay stuck in what they did. Don’t let the enemy use your own heart against you.
Let go. Not because it didn’t hurt, but because you’re ready to live healed.
Don’t just listen. Do.
That’s how you keep your peace. That’s how you take your power back. That’s how you win—from within.
My Favorite This Month: A.P.C. Paris Black Denim

Now and then, a piece enters your wardrobe that feels less like a trend and more like a signature. This April, that piece for me has been the A.P.C. Paris black denim—quietly confident, deeply considered, and effortlessly timeless.
I’ve always gravitated toward clothing that speaks in subtleties: pieces that don’t shout, but rather suggest. The A.P.C. black denim is exactly that. It's refined and minimal. These qualities reflect my style and mirror my approach to mindful living. Its raw finish softens with wear, telling your story with every fold and fade. That kind of intimacy in design is rare, and it's something I wanted to honor through a personal campaign.
So I created a visual story around it that is simple, slow, and intentional. Shot during golden hour in my favorite corner of the city, the campaign was inspired by that quiet confidence of a well-loved essential. No noise. No excess. Just clean lines, natural light, and pieces that speak for themselves.
How I styled it:
I kept the look elemental and honest, pairing the denim with a crisp white t-shirt, slightly tucked for that refined but relaxed touch. There’s something about that black-and-white combination that feels grounding. It’s a silhouette that doesn’t try too hard, yet somehow says everything. Paired with classic leather sandals and my everyday accessories, the result was a look that felt like me—elevated but easeful.
I find beauty in the balance…structured yet soft, modern yet timeless. That’s what I aim to embody, not just in what I wear, but in how I live.
Sometimes, your favorite isn’t the flashiest item in your closet. It’s the one that shows up again and again, grounding you in your rhythm. For me, this month, that piece is this black denim. No logos, no fuss—just intention, clean lines, and longevity.

Skincare in Stillness: Why I’m Loving Purito’s Unscented Serum & Eye Cream
As I continue to pare things down: my schedule, my wardrobe, and my space. I’ve also been refining my skincare. It’s a ritual I don’t rush. I see it as a quiet return to self. This month, two products have earned their place in my slow beauty rhythm: the Purito Centella Unscented Serum and Purito Centella Unscented Eye Cream.
Let’s start with the serum. It’s featherlight yet deeply restorative—exactly what I want in a daily layer. Formulated with 49% Centella Asiatica extract, this serum soothes while strengthening the skin barrier, something I prioritize between sun exposure, screen time, and travel. No fragrance, no irritation—just calm. I apply it after my morning cleanse, pressing it gently into my skin, like a reminder to move with intention.
The unscented eye cream has been just as grounding. Rich in peptides, niacinamide, and ceramides, it hydrates without overwhelming the delicate under-eye area. There’s a cooling softness to it that feels like rest for tired eyes. I use it morning and night, and some days, I tap a bit onto the high points of my cheekbones for a natural, hydrated glow. No concealer needed, ladies.
What I love most about these two? Their quiet integrity. They don’t promise to change you…they support you, as you are. The formulas are clean, vegan, cruelty-free, and simple. And in a world that often asks us to do and be more, products like these remind me that less can truly be more…when it’s intentional.
I’m learning that skincare isn’t just about results—it’s about a relationship. With your body. With your boundaries. With your breath. And Purito, in its softness and simplicity, fits beautifully into that space.
If you’re seeking calm, nourishment, and clarity in your routine, I can’t recommend these two enough.
Here’s to skincare as a sanctuary.

The Mirror Doesn’t Lie, But It Doesn’t Tell the Whole Story Either
Standing in front of the mirror, I often find myself looking deeper than just my reflection. It’s not just about the face I see—it’s about the journey. A journey of becoming comfortable with who I truly am. The flaws, the scars, the stories hidden in the lines of my skin—they all have meaning. And maybe, just maybe, that meaning is deeper than I’ve allowed myself to realize.
There’s a quiet intimacy in those moments—moments where I find myself not just seeing, but searching. And in that sacred space, God often meets me there. Not with condemnation, but with compassion. In His infinite love, He mirrors us back to ourselves, gently showing us the beauty that exists in our brokenness and the strength that was forged through every struggle.
There are secrets we hide. Pieces of ourselves we tuck away because we fear they make us unlovable or unworthy. But the truth is this: embracing those hidden parts is not a weakness. It’s courage. It’s the beginning of healing.
When God Calls Us Closer
Healing doesn’t happen in the spotlight—it happens in the stillness. In the quiet whispers where God calls us to come closer, to stop running, and to be still in His presence. He doesn’t wait for us to have it all together. He meets us in our mess. He walks with us through our insecurities, through our questions, and yes, even through our doubts.
It’s in the hiding that He invites us to be seen. Not just by the world, but by ourselves. Fully. Honestly. Gracefully. Each step forward—no matter how small—is a testament to His grace and your growth.
Words of Encouragement
Let these words rest on your heart today:
You are loved. You are whole. You are worthy—just as you are.
The more you accept and love yourself, the more you begin to see that same love reflected in everything around you. And the more you allow yourself to be seen, the more others are empowered to do the same.
Practical Tips for the Journey
Tip 1: Start each day with gratitude.
Take a few quiet moments in front of the mirror and say something kind to yourself. Thank your body for carrying you through the day. Acknowledge the growth you’ve made—even if it’s unseen by others.
Remember: healing is not a race, it's a process.
Tip 2: Don’t be afraid to ask for help.
It’s okay to not have it all figured out. Lean on God. Reach out to a friend, a counselor, a trusted voice. You were never meant to walk this journey alone. Asking for help is not weakness—it’s wisdom.
Scripture for the Soul
"I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well."
— Psalm 139:14 (NIV)
Let this truth anchor your soul. You are not an accident. You are not too broken. You are not beyond love. You are fearfully and wonderfully made—and that alone is worth celebrating every single day.
Mastering Versatility: One Polo, One Pair of Jeans, Six Effortless Looks
Rag & Bone Fit 2 Slim Jeans
When it comes to building a versatile wardrobe, investing in quality essentials is key. With the right pieces, the styling possibilities are endless. This week, I’ve crafted six distinct outfits around two key items: my SON long-sleeve polo and Rag & Bone jeans. These wardrobe staples perfectly balance structure, ease, and timeless layers, giving me endless styling options no matter the occasion.
Here’s how I styled these pieces in six effortless looks:
1. Layer Smart
A classic layering trick, the black knit cardigan over my SON polo provides just the right amount of polish without losing the relaxed vibe. This combo is perfect for casual days when you want to feel put together without overthinking your outfit. The cardigan adds warmth while still maintaining a sleek silhouette.
2. Play with Accessories
Accessories are the quickest way to elevate an outfit. I’ve paired my looks with a classic watch to bring a touch of sophistication to each outfit. The APC Paris tote, both functional and stylish, offers the perfect finishing touch, seamlessly blending with the rest of the look while giving me the practicality I need.
3. Mix Textures
Texture mixing is all about creating depth in your outfit. By pairing my Rag & Bone jeans with an Acne Studios tailored blazer, I can refine the look and create an effortlessly chic vibe. For a more rugged and edgy aesthetic, I swap the blazer for a leather jacket, creating contrast and adding a bit of attitude to the ensemble.
4. Proportions Matter
A small styling trick that goes a long way is playing with proportions. I rolled up the jeans for a relaxed, yet intentional look that allows me to highlight my footwear. This simple adjustment helps break up the outfit and adds dimension, giving a more personalized feel to the look.
5. Bag Rotation
Sometimes, the bag you choose can completely transform an outfit. I reached for my Acne Studios Musubi bag for a more minimal and refined look. Its sleek design and understated elegance create a balanced finish, perfect for when you want to keep things simple but still eye-catching.
The Takeaway:
The beauty of these six looks lies in their simplicity. By sticking to two key essentials—the SON long-sleeve polo and Rag & Bone jeans—I’ve been able to create versatile outfits that can take me from laid-back days to more polished, refined looks. With clever styling tricks like layering, playing with textures, and rotating accessories, you can elevate your wardrobe and make the most of your investment in timeless pieces. So, when you invest in great essentials, the styling possibilities truly multiply.

Welcoming Change with Clarity, Discipline, and Divine Renewal
April arrives like a gentle whisper, reminding us that fresh starts are always within reach. The changing seasons offer more than just a shift in weather—they invite us to realign with purpose, embrace growth, and step into new levels of clarity, discipline, and divine renewal.
Clarity: Seeing with Spiritual Vision
Change often comes with uncertainty, but clarity allows us to see beyond the surface. It is the wisdom to discern what aligns with our highest calling and the courage to release what no longer serves us. This month, I welcome a clear mind, free from distractions, so I can walk confidently in my purpose.
Discipline: Honoring the Journey
True transformation requires discipline—not as a restriction but as a sacred act of devotion. Whether in how I care for my body, nurture my space, or cultivate my creativity, discipline keeps me anchored. It is the daily commitment to show up, refine, and embody the life I am called to live.
Divine Renewal: Strength for the Season
Every new season is an opportunity for divine renewal. Just as nature sheds the old to make way for the new, I, too, surrender to God’s timing, trusting that His abundance flows effortlessly where faith and alignment exist. My peace is sacred—I guard it with wisdom and grace, knowing that what is meant for me cannot be shaken.
As April unfolds, I step into new beginnings with an open heart, a focused mind, and a spirit rooted in abundance. Amen.
Effortless Balance: The Oversized Leather Jacket
A few days ago, I wore my oversized leather jacket from V12—an effortless piece that added structure and ease to my look. I paired it with a classic long-sleeve t-shirt from Son of a Tailor, Theory’s Raffi pants, and white sneakers for a clean, balanced feel.
Style Notes:
The oversized jacket makes a statement, so I kept the rest of the outfit fitted and minimal.
Tailored pants and a structured tee provided contrast, preventing the look from feeling too relaxed.
White sneakers kept it fresh and versatile—easy to wear anywhere.
A simple yet refined way to embrace oversized pieces while maintaining a polished feel.

A Soulful Escape to South Street Beach
Coat: Acne Studios
Hoodie: Son of a Tailor
My sweet girl, Aleali.
Trainers: Rodd & Gunn
Visited South Street Beach in West Haven, Connecticut, and it was everything I needed. The sun was shining, the sky a perfect shade of blue, and the air carried that fresh, salty breeze that instantly soothes the mind.
Aleali, ever alert and cautious, took in the energy of the beach with a mix of curiosity and care. Her senses were alive to every sound, sight, and smell, reminding me how deeply connected we are to the world around us when we take the time to notice.
I found myself fully immersed in the peacefulness of the moment—the rhythmic crashing of the waves, the way seashells scattered across the sand like tiny treasures, each unique in its beauty. There’s something about long drives to quiet beaches that makes you slow down and appreciate life’s simple, fleeting details.
Sitting there, I couldn’t help but reflect on Bob Marley’s perspective on wealth:
"The greatness of a man is not in how much wealth he acquires, but in how rich he is in life."
That sentiment felt especially true at this moment. Real richness isn’t found in things, but in experiences—the ones that bring peace, gratitude, and a deeper connection to life.
A perfect way to reset and recharge.

The Healing Journey: Embracing Growth and Transformation
Healing is often thought of as a destination, a point in time when we will be “fixed” or “whole.” But healing is a process—one that unfolds in stages and can take time, patience, and grace. Whether you’re healing from emotional wounds, a difficult season in life, or spiritual struggles, it’s important to know that healing is always possible. The key is knowing when you are ready, and how to embrace the journey with faith, self-compassion, and trust in God’s timing.
In her book "When You Are Ready, This Is How You Heal," Brianna Wiest shares a profound perspective on healing:
“Healing is not about becoming someone else, it’s about returning to who you really are.”
This powerful statement highlights the truth that healing isn’t about changing yourself—it’s about rediscovering your authentic self and realigning with your purpose.
In this blog, we’ll explore what it means to heal, how to start the process, and how biblical teachings can provide strength and guidance. We’ll also dive into some practical tips and exercises that can support your healing journey.
Understanding Healing: The First Step
Healing begins when we acknowledge our wounds and recognize the need for transformation. As Brianna Wiest points out, healing requires vulnerability and self-awareness. You have to be willing to feel what you’ve been avoiding, face the pain, and work through it to grow.
Personal Reflection:
I remember a time in my life when I was holding onto old hurts—misunderstandings, past failures, and regrets that kept me stuck. For a long time, I tried to push them aside, thinking they would just disappear. But it wasn’t until I allowed myself to sit with those feelings and confront them head-on that I began to heal. It wasn’t easy, but it was necessary. And when I began to embrace my own vulnerability, I realized how much strength lies in that space.
Scripture for Healing:
"He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds."_ — Psalm 147:3
This verse serves as a reminder that God is always present in our healing process. He is the ultimate source of restoration, mending the broken pieces of our hearts with His love and grace.
The Healing Process: Trusting the Journey
Healing isn’t linear. There will be setbacks, moments of doubt, and days when you feel like you’re not making progress. But trust that these moments are part of the process. Brianna Wiest reminds us that healing comes in layers:
“You will not heal in a day, or a week, or a month. But you will heal.”
Biblical Insight:
God does not promise us an instant fix, but He assures us that His timing is perfect. In Isaiah 40:31, it says,
“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
Just as the eagle is renewed, we too are renewed when we place our hope in God. The process of healing may take time, but through patience and perseverance, we will rise stronger than before.
Tips for Healing: Small Steps Toward Restoration
1. Start with Self-Compassion:
Healing begins with kindness toward yourself. Acknowledge your pain without judgment and treat yourself with the same compassion you would offer to a loved one. Instead of criticizing yourself for feeling hurt, recognize that these emotions are valid and part of your human experience.
2. Practice Forgiveness:
Forgiveness isn’t just for the other person; it’s for you. Carrying the weight of anger, resentment, or unforgiveness only hinders your healing. When you choose to forgive—whether it’s yourself or others—you release the hold that past pain has over you.
Exercise:
Write a letter of forgiveness. It can be to someone who has hurt you or to yourself. Express your feelings, acknowledge the pain, and then let go of any bitterness. You don’t need to send the letter; it’s an exercise in freeing yourself.
Scripture for Forgiveness:
"And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors." — Matthew 6:12
This reminder from Jesus’ prayer teaches us that forgiveness is essential for our freedom. When we forgive, we align ourselves with God's love and grace.
3. Create Healthy Boundaries:
Sometimes healing requires us to create space between ourselves and toxic people or situations. Boundaries are essential for protecting your emotional well-being. It’s okay to say no to things that hinder your peace and yes to things that nurture your soul.
4. Seek Professional Help:
If you find yourself struggling to heal, seeking professional help from a therapist or counselor can provide invaluable support. There’s no shame in seeking help—it’s a courageous step toward restoration.
5. Spend Time in Prayer and Reflection:
Healing is spiritual as much as it is emotional. Spend time in prayer, asking God to guide your heart and mind. Reflect on His promises and trust in His plan for your life.
Scripture for Strength:
"The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit."
— Psalm 34:18
God is near to us in our brokenness. He promises to comfort us in our pain and lead us toward healing.
Healing is a Journey, Not a Destination
Healing is not about fixing what’s broken, but about finding strength in the process. It’s about surrendering to God’s timing, trusting His plan, and allowing yourself the space to grow. As Brianna Wiest says,
“Healing is the act of becoming whole again—returning to the person you were always meant to be.”
So, if you’re on a healing journey today, know that you’re not alone. Embrace the process, trust in God’s timing, and move forward with faith. The broken pieces will come together, and you will emerge stronger, wiser, and more whole than before.
A Final Reflection:
Take a moment today to reflect on your healing journey. What steps have you taken toward healing? What is one thing you can do today to nurture your heart and soul?
Exercise for the Week:
Journal your thoughts on healing. What areas of your life need God’s touch? Write down your prayers and offer them to Him.
Remember, healing is a journey, and God is with you every step of the way. Keep trusting, keep growing, and allow His love to restore you fully.
Reflect & Reset: Your Weekly Progress Check-In
Life moves fast, and it’s easy to jump into a new week without pausing to reflect. But taking time to acknowledge your progress—no matter how small—helps you stay grounded and intentional. Let’s check-in, reset, and move forward with clarity.
Step 1: Celebrate Your Progress
Before thinking about what’s next, take a moment to recognize what you’ve already accomplished.
Reflection Exercise:
Grab a journal or sit in stillness.
Write down (or mentally note) three things you accomplished this week.
Reflect on one challenge you faced and what it taught you.
Identify one small step you took toward a personal, professional, or spiritual goal.
Every bit of progress matters. Growth isn’t always loud; sometimes, it’s found in the quiet shifts within.
Step 2: Realign with Intention
It’s easy to get caught up in stress, but you can reset your mindset at any time.
Affirmation to Repeat:
“Today, I choose peace over stress, purpose over fear, and trust over doubt. I am exactly where I need to be.”
Take a deep breath. Say it out loud. Let it settle in.
Step 3: Anchor Yourself in Truth
No matter how uncertain things feel, God’s plan is unfolding.
Scripture for Encouragement:
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future." — Jeremiah 29:11
Even when things feel uncertain, trust that God is working behind the scenes. Stay the course, even when you can’t see the full picture yet.
Step 4: Set a Small Intention for the Week Ahead
Instead of overwhelming yourself with a long to-do list, focus on one clear intention for the week ahead.
Exercise:
Write down one habit you want to be more mindful of (e.g., being more present, speaking kindly to yourself, spending more time in prayer).
Note one small action you can take to align with that intention.
This isn’t about perfection—it’s about progress. You are moving forward, even in the still moments. Keep trusting, keep growing, and walk into the week with confidence.
What’s one thing you’re reflecting on today? Share your thoughts on my recent Instagram post ‘Reflect and Reset’ and let’s encourage one another!
Embracing Forgiveness: How Letting Go of Resentment Changed My Life
In Brianna Wiest’s powerful essay, "When You Are Ready to Change Your Life, Read This," I found a moment of self-reflection that hit me deeply, particularly on the topic of begrudging others. We all encounter individuals in our lives that we struggle to forgive. It could be a friend, family member, colleague, or someone who has wronged us in some way. For a long time, I carried resentment toward certain people—holding onto grudges that weighed heavily on my heart.
Essay 3 - Page 19
But as I read Wiest’s essay and reflected on my own journey, I realized that harboring bitterness only held me back from experiencing true peace and growth. The constant grip of negativity kept me stuck in a cycle of anger and frustration, preventing me from moving forward.
A Shift in Perspective
What I once viewed as a justified reason to hold a grudge has now shifted in my heart. I've understood that resentment doesn't change the other person—it only poisons my spirit. God’s grace has been working in me, gently teaching me that forgiveness is not for the other person; it’s for me. It’s about freeing my heart from the chains of anger and making space for healing.
Through prayer and reflection, I’ve begun to let go of the weight I’ve been carrying. It hasn’t been easy, and it’s a process that requires continuous effort, but I can already feel a change. As I release the bitterness and resentment, I’m opening myself up to more compassion and peace. And I’m learning to see these individuals, not as sources of pain, but as opportunities for growth—both for them and for me.
God’s Guidance: Creating an Action Plan
This transformation is not a passive one. It requires action. I’ve been working on an action plan, with God's guidance, to help me continue walking the path of forgiveness. It's not just about letting go in the moment but making a commitment to stay aligned with a heart of compassion and understanding. This includes:
1. Reflecting on My Emotions – Before reacting, I take a moment to ask myself why I feel hurt or angry. This reflection helps me understand my emotions and where they come from.
2. Praying for Healing – Prayer has been a huge part of this journey. Asking God for strength to forgive and for a heart that can let go of grudges has been key in moving forward.
3. Setting Boundaries – Forgiving doesn’t mean allowing people to continue to hurt me. I’m learning how to set healthy boundaries while still showing grace and love.
4. Choosing Peace Over Revenge – Every day, I remind myself that peace is worth more than revenge. Letting go of resentment is a choice, and I am choosing peace.
The Power of Forgiveness
One of the most powerful lessons I’ve learned is that forgiveness doesn't just free the other person; it releases me from the chains that held me captive. The song "Forgiveness" by Matthew West beautifully captures this truth:
"It'll clear the bitterness away / It can even set a prisoner free / There is no end to what its power can do."
These words hit home for me. When I choose to forgive, I am freeing myself. I am no longer a prisoner of my past pain, and I can move forward with a lighter heart and a renewed sense of purpose. Forgiveness has the power to transform us in ways we never imagined.
Letting Go and Moving Forward
If you're struggling with grudges or past hurts, I encourage you to take the first step toward forgiveness. It won’t happen overnight, but with prayer, reflection, and action, you can experience the freedom and peace that come from letting go. Remember, it’s not about excusing what was done—it’s about choosing peace for yourself and allowing space for healing.
Why I Swear By Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Cleansing Foam: A Game-Changer for My Skin
As someone who’s spent a fair amount of time navigating the world of skincare, I can tell you that the simplest products often end up being the most effective. It’s easy to get caught up in all the flashy, complicated routines and endless new releases, but at the end of the day, what matters most is finding products that work for you.
That’s why I’ve been hooked on the Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Cleansing Foam. Trust me when I say, this cleanser has quickly become a staple in my daily routine, and I can’t keep it to myself any longer. Let me break it down for you.
A Cleanser That Understands Skin Needs
At first glance, this may look like just another facial wash—but it’s so much more than that. For those of us who battle with dry or sensitive skin, finding a cleanser that doesn’t leave your face feeling stripped or tight is no small feat. The Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Cleansing Foam is different. It removes dirt, oil, and impurities while keeping that natural moisture balance intact.
Here’s why I love it:
1. Hydration Without the Heaviness – The key ingredient, hyaluronic acid, is like a drink of water for your skin. Unlike some cleansers that leave your face feeling parched, this one hydrates while it cleanses. I’ve noticed that after using it, my skin feels refreshed and soft, not dry and tight.
2. Gentle Yet Effective – It’s perfect for my sensitive skin. I don’t have to worry about irritation or redness after washing my face, which is huge for me. It cleans thoroughly, but it does so in a way that feels smooth and soothing, not harsh or abrasive.
3. Foams Just Right – Some foaming cleansers can get too foamy and dry out the skin, but this one strikes the perfect balance. It creates a nice lather, giving you that clean feeling without feeling like it’s stripping everything away.
Why It Works for Me (And Might Work for You Too)
At my age, I’ve become much more mindful of what I put on my skin. I don’t need an over-complicated 12-step routine to feel good about my skincare—just the basics that actually support my skin’s health. The Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Cleansing Foam has been a game-changer because it aligns with my need for something simple, effective, and moisturizing.
It’s not just about clearing up my face at the end of the day; it’s about taking care of myself and making sure my skin has what it needs to stay healthy and hydrated. And the best part? It doesn’t break the bank—great skincare shouldn’t have to.
How It Fits Into My Daily Routine
I’ve got a few non-negotiables in my routine: cleansing in the morning and before bed, and making sure I’m not leaving my skin parched or irritated. This cleanser fits perfectly into that. After a long day, it’s the first step I take to reset my skin, followed by a good moisturizer and a bit of serum. On mornings when I need to start fresh, it gives my face that clean, energized feeling, without the dryness.
Final Thoughts
If you’re dealing with dry, sensitive skin—or even if you just want a cleanser that leaves your face feeling soft and hydrated, not tight—give the Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Cleansing Foam a shot. It’s a gentle yet effective way to take care of your skin without complicating your routine. Trust me, you won’t regret it.
And hey, it’s all about finding what works for you. If you’ve tried it or are thinking about it, drop a comment on my lastest Instagram post, and let’s talk about it. I’m always down to share skincare tips and tricks!

When Life Feels Like It’s Throwing Everything at You: A Look at Job 30:26-27
Ever feel like no matter how hard you try to stay hopeful, life keeps knocking you down? You know, those moments when you think things are finally turning around, but the challenges seem to hit even harder? In Job 30:26-27, he says:
"When I hoped for good, evil came; when I looked for light, then came darkness. The churning inside me never stops; days of suffering confront me."
I don’t know about you, but those verses hit deep for me. They’re a raw reminder that, sometimes, life just doesn’t play fair. You’re putting in the work, trying to stay positive, maybe even praying for a break, and then, out of nowhere, more struggle comes your way. It’s like the universe is testing you, but instead of relief, you get more weight to carry.
Real Talk: The Struggle Is Real
If you’re reading this and feeling that weight, trust me—you’re not alone. Job’s words feel timeless because they speak to a universal human experience. There are seasons in life where it feels like you’re stuck in the struggle, and every time you think things are getting better, the challenges only seem to intensify. It’s tough. But here’s the thing: Just because it feels dark right now doesn’t mean the light isn’t coming.
In my own life, I’ve faced those moments where everything felt heavy. You know that feeling when your heart is in a constant churn, when you can’t seem to catch a break, and every day feels like another battle? It’s hard not to get discouraged when you feel like you’re giving it your all and getting little in return. But here’s what I’ve learned—hope is more powerful than we think.
Hope and Faith: Holding On Even When It’s Hard
Job’s struggle wasn’t easy, and neither is ours. But his story reminds us that even in the darkest moments, there’s value in holding on to hope and faith. It doesn’t mean everything will be fixed right away, but it does mean that you’re not walking through this alone. And that’s a big thing to hold on to when life feels heavy.
There have been times in my life when all I could do was hang on to that tiny thread of faith, even when nothing around me seemed to make sense. And honestly, that faith has been what’s gotten me through. It's not about expecting everything to be perfect; it’s about knowing that, even in the tough moments, God is with you, guiding you, and giving you the strength to keep going.
Taking It One Step at a Time
So, if you're feeling like you're in a season of struggle, know this: It’s okay to feel frustrated, to feel tired, to question why things are the way they are. But also remember that every day is a new opportunity to take one step forward. And some days, that’s enough.
If you’re in the thick of it right now, it might not feel like it, but things do shift. Life’s seasons don’t last forever—good or bad. Hold on to what you can learn on faith, and keep moving forward, even when the road ahead feels unclear.
Let’s Talk About It
If this resonates with you, I’d love to hear your thoughts. I know these seasons can be tough, but we don’t have to go through them alone. I’ve shared part of my story here, but I want to hear yours too. How do you find hope when life’s challenges seem overwhelming?

Job's Lament: Wrestling with Suffering, Purpose, and Divine Justice in the Book of Job
Job 3:11-13 – Job’s lament and questioning of his birth
"Why did I not perish at birth, and die as I came from the womb? Why were there knees to receive me and breasts that I might be nursed? For now, I would be lying down in peace; I would be asleep and at rest."
Here, Job expresses deep frustration and questions why he was even born if this suffering would be his fate. He wonders about the possibility of peace and rest in death, highlighting his internal "what if" of never having been born.
Job 3:23-24 – Job questions his life’s purpose
"Why is life given to a man whose way is hidden, whom God has hedged in? For sighing has become my daily food; my groans pour out like water."
Job asks, “Why is life given to someone like me who is trapped in suffering and uncertainty?” He struggles with the what-if question of a life that seems pointless and full of pain, wondering if there’s meaning or hope.
Job 7:17-21– Job wonders about God’s purpose for him
“What is mankind that you make so much of them, that you give them so much attention, that you examine them every morning and test them every moment? Will you torment me for no reason? ... Why then did you bring me out of the womb?”
Job here ponders the why of his suffering. He wonders why God even bothers with him, considering how seemingly insignificant and flawed humanity is in comparison to God's greatness. Job questions God's intentions in allowing his suffering, wondering about the what-if of a life free from torment.
Job 9:17-20 – Job’s sense of injustice
"If someone dies, will they live again? All the days of my hard service I will wait for my renewal to come. You will call, and I will answer you; you will long for the creature your hands have made."
Job questions the what-if of life after death. He is pondering if there is hope beyond suffering, and what the future holds for him after such intense pain. His doubts about God's justice are prevalent, as he feels wrongly judged and oppressed.
Job 10:3-7 – Job’s complaints about his suffering
“Does it please you to oppress me, to spurn the work of your hands, while you smile on the plans of the wicked? ... Why then did you bring me out of the womb? I wish I had died before any eye saw me."
Job questions God’s justice, expressing that it seems as though God is pleased with his suffering while allowing the wicked to prosper. He again wrestles with the what-if question of his birth and life’s purpose, feeling trapped in a situation that feels unfair.
Job 13:23-24 – Job’s plea for understanding
"How many wrongs and sins have I committed? Show me my offense and my sin. Why do you hide your face and consider me your enemy?"
Job is in anguish, questioning if he has committed some unseen offense. He feels abandoned by God, asking what- if there is no answer to his suffering, or what if his suffering is part of some unknown divine judgment that he doesn’t understand.
Job 14:1-2 – Job questions the meaning of life
“Mortals, born of woman, are of few days and full of trouble. They spring up like flowers and wither away; like fleeting shadows, they do not endure.”
Job reflects on the brevity and fragility of life, which raises an existential what-if about the meaning of human existence. He questions the purpose of life when it seems so fleeting and filled with suffering.
Job 24:1-2 – Job’s questioning of divine justice
“Why does the Almighty not set times for judgment? Why must those who know him look in vain for such days?”
Job struggles with the apparent delay of God’s justice. His what-if question is about why there seems to be no visible judgment for the wicked and no explanation for the suffering of the righteous.
Job 30:26-27 – Job's sense of helplessness and despair
“Yet when I hoped for good, evil came; when I looked for light, then came darkness. The churning inside me never stops; days of suffering confront me.”
Job reflects on the what-if of hope, only to have it met with the opposite—evil and darkness. He is trapped in a cycle of hopelessness, questioning why he is experiencing such persistent suffering despite his hope for relief.

The Cycle of Hopelessness: Understanding Job 30:26-27
Have you ever felt like you were waiting for something good to happen, but instead, something bad came along? Or maybe you thought things were getting better, but then everything seemed to get worse? You’re not alone. Even the Bible talks about this feeling of disappointment and confusion.
In Job 30:26-27, Job shares how he felt trapped in a never-ending cycle of despair. He writes:
"Yet when I hoped for good, evil came; when I looked for light, then came darkness. The churning inside me never stops; days of suffering confront me."
What is Job Saying Here?
Job is describing a time when he felt like no matter what he did, things just kept getting worse. He was hoping for something good—maybe peace, healing, or relief—but instead, he found himself facing more pain, darkness, and confusion. It's like looking for a rainbow after the storm but finding nothing but more clouds.
Imagine you're waiting for a sunny day to play outside, but every time you check, it's still raining. You start to feel frustrated and maybe even a little hopeless. That's what Job is feeling. Even though he’s longing for relief, he can’t seem to escape his pain.
Job’s “What If” of Hope
When Job says, "Yet when I hoped for good, evil came; when I looked for light, then came darkness," he’s expressing a deep, raw question: What if hope doesn’t lead to anything good? What if we face more struggles instead of finding answers, peace, or relief?
This feeling of what if—that maybe hope is pointless—can be tough to handle. Sometimes, when we hope for something better, it feels like we only get more disappointment. Job is feeling that way in these verses. He’s in a cycle where every time he tries to find light (good things), he only ends up in darkness (bad things).
Job’s Struggle: A Cycle of Hopelessness
Job describes a feeling that many of us can understand—being stuck in a cycle where every time you think things might improve, something knocks you back down. For Job, it wasn’t just a bad day or a difficult season—it was a long, painful period of feeling like there was no end to the suffering. The “churning inside me never stops,” Job says. That feeling of constant worry, pain, or fear is exhausting.
But the important thing to remember is that Job’s feelings don’t mean God is absent. Sometimes, it may feel like God is silent, or our suffering is endless. But Job’s honesty shows us that it is acceptable to express those feelings—God isn’t afraid of our questions or struggles.
What Can We Learn from Job’s Struggle?
Job teaches us that it’s okay to feel hopeless sometimes. Life can be tough, and it’s normal to have moments where you wonder why things aren’t getting better. But we don’t have to give up hope completely. Job’s story doesn’t end in despair. Even though he questions and struggles, his journey eventually leads him to a deeper understanding of God and his strength.
When life feels dark and we feel stuck in a cycle, it’s important to keep moving forward, even if just a little bit at a time. God sees our pain. He’s with us even when we don’t feel His presence. And like Job, we can learn to trust that our struggles don’t define us—they’re just part of a bigger story.
What About You?
Have you ever felt like Job? No matter how much you hope, things don’t seem to improve. How do you cope when it feels like the darkness is winning?
If you’re struggling with despair or have questions about hope, I’d love to hear from you. Let’s walk through these difficult questions together. Feel free to send me any thoughts or questions to info@stevenpatrickbrown.co. You don’t have to go through this alone.
“Remember, while suffering and hopelessness can feel overwhelming, they don’t have to define your story. Keep looking for the light, even when it seems hard to find. There's hope beyond the darkness.” - Steven-Patrick Brown

The Timeless Duo: Knitwear & Denim
What I love most about knitwear and denim is how they transcend seasons and trends. They’re not just pieces of clothing; they’re foundational elements of a well-rounded wardrobe. There’s a richness in the simplicity of both fabrics that allows you to dress them up or down, depending on where you’re headed. A finely-knit sweater paired with a clean pair of jeans? That’s a look that speaks volumes without saying too much. It’s effortless, but it has a certain presence that shows you put thought into your outfit without overdoing it. Then, you flip the script—throw on a chunky knit with some relaxed-fit denim, and suddenly, you’ve got a laid-back, cool vibe that’s just as sharp. It’s about understanding the balance of comfort and style, and these two pieces bring them together in a way that feels like second nature.
But what really makes knitwear and denim timeless is how they evolve with you. As trends shift, these fabrics remain grounded, yet somehow always relevant. Denim’s journey from rugged workwear to high fashion is a testament to its versatility. It’s like the ultimate chameleon. The same can be said for knitwear. What started as cozy, functional pieces have morphed into something far more nuanced—whether it’s a tailored knit under a blazer or a loose, oversized sweater over skinny jeans, these textiles adapt to whatever vibe you're feeling. As a creative, I appreciate the beauty in that transformation. It’s a language of style that speaks to your personal evolution. These aren’t just clothes; they’re markers of how far you’ve come in your style journey. Over the years, as you refine your taste and confidence, knitwear and denim become part of the rhythm of your life—never too loud, always on point, and always there when you need them.

Mindful Reads: This is How You Heal
Essay 1 Brianna Wiest’s essay “This is How You Heal” really hit me like a mirror I wasn’t ready to look into but couldn’t turn away from. It’s that type of truth that feels both humbling and liberating at the same time. She talks about healing not as this grand, dramatic moment of arrival but as a slow, deliberate process of choosing to live differently. That part resonated deeply with me because for so long, I thought healing was something I would just wake up into one day, like flipping a switch. But nah—it’s in the daily grind of showing up for yourself, choosing yourself, and learning how to let go of the pain you’ve been holding like a badge of survival.
I had this “ah-ha” moment reading her words when she said healing is about taking responsibility—not for what happened to you but for how you respond to it moving forward. It hit different because, as a young, black man, the world isn’t exactly gentle, you know? I’ve carried so much—rejection, invalidation, and the weight of trying to prove my worth in spaces that were never built for me. It’s exhausting. But the essay made me realize that part of healing is learning how to stop replaying those old stories of pain and rewriting the narrative in a way that empowers me.
Wiest says something like healing isn’t just about “feeling better,” it’s about being better. And I felt that in my spirit. It’s about doing the inner work, even when it’s messy and uncomfortable, and understanding that healing doesn’t erase the scars—it teaches you how to wear them with grace. For me, that means forgiving myself for all the times I settled for less, whether in relationships, friendships, or even how I talked to myself. It means being okay with setting boundaries and choosing peace over chaos.
It’s wild because we think healing is this upward journey, but it’s more like a spiral. You keep circling back to the same lessons until they sink in. I’m realizing now that every time I choose myself—whether that’s walking away from something that no longer serves me or just sitting in silence and breathing through the pain—I’m healing. Wiest reminded me that healing isn’t about perfection, it’s about progression. And I’m learning to celebrate that.
